Susan Keene Timberlake, age 73, of Cary, NC passed away on January 30, 2018. Susan was a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother, and a dear friend who will be greatly missed by many.

Susan was born on September 2, 1944 to Pete and Faye Keene in Vicksburg, Mississippi. She graduated from New Hanover High School in Wilmington, NC before attending the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and then earning a BA in sociology from Berry College near Rome, Georgia. She is preceded in death by her parents and her infant son, Scott Timberlake, as well as her brothers-in-law John and David Timberlake. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Jack Timberlake; her children Diana Barbee, Roger Timberlake, and Todd Timberlake and their spouses James Barbee, Sophia Timberlake, and Karen Timberlake; and her three grandchildren Morgan, Max, and Pete Timberlake. In addition, she is survived by her sister Judy Slack and husband Bill; her mother-in-law Frances Timberlake; her sisters-in-law Laurie and Barbara Jo Timberlake; her brother-in-law Charles Timberlake and wife Angie; and several beloved nieces and nephews. She was especially close to her husband's cousins.

The family is planning a celebration of Susan's life to be held at Topsail Beach, NC at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Susan's name to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org
