Theresa Barbour Obituary

Theresa Branch Barbour

Cary

Theresa Branch Barbour of Cary, passed away on Sunday November 9, 2014. She was born to the late Sim and Claire Branch of Darlington Crossroads in Halifax County on January 30, 1927.

Theresa attended Aurelian Springs High School before attending the Raleigh's School of Business, where she graduated with honors. She worked for the Fidelity Bank in downtown Cary for over 30 years and was well known in the community. Theresa chose to remain in the same neighborhood after her retirement and the passing of her husband, Leland Barbour, for the past 50 years. She loved her home and neighbors.

Family and friends were Theresa's love and joy. She insisted on having a jubilant time and could easily bring laughter to the table. She enjoyed her canine companions, music and gaming. Theresa could frequently been found dining out each evening in her favorite local Chili's where the staff treated her like royalty. They became her endearing family whom she truly loved.

Theresa is survived by her sister, Marie Branch Lamb, of Chesapeake Va., her three nieces and their families; Gloria and Clifton Jones of Greenville, Connie and John Hassell, Martha and Don Supik both from Virginia and many cousins. She also leaves behind an extended family, Ronnie and Sherrie Roberts in the Garner area and extra special friends and neighbors whom all cared for her unconditionally. The family wishes to thank all of those who gave of themselves for Theresa in her later years.

The visitation will be held at Wrenn, Clarke, and Hagan Funeral Home, 1015 W Fifth St, Roanoke Rapids on Friday November 14th beginning at 10:00am followed with a service in the chapel at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA of Wake County, 200 Petfinder Lane, Raleigh, NC 27603. Condolences for the family may be offered online at http://wrennclarkehagan.com
