Thomas Rigsbee Obituary

Thomas Excell Rigsbee, 73, of the Oak Grove Community was born on March 28, 1935 in Wake County to the late Raymond Louis Rigsbee and Genetta Moore Rigsbee. Tom went to Heaven to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 22nd at Blue Ridge Health Care Center in Raleigh following a five month illness. He attended Bethel Christian Center and was a member of The Adult Sunday School Class.
Tom was formerly employed by The Young Roofing Company; he owned and operated Rigsbee Roofing & Guttering Company, and most recently was a Parking Attendant in the Parking and Transportation Department at Duke University Medical Center.
Surviving are" his wife of 48 years, Dorothy "Dot" Allen Rigsbee; his daughters, Bobbie R. Lancaster, Cathy D. Rigsbee, Marion R. Jones, Marty L. Rigsbee, Rose R. Taylor (Randy), and Tommi R. Teasley; his grandchildren, Christie Lancaster, Michael Lancaster, Kevin Briggs, Melissa D. Jones, Derek Taylor, Kyle Roberson, Landon Rigsbee, and Julia Teasley; his sister, Faye R. Strother; his sister-in-law, Carolyn O. Rigsbee; a special "Grand dog" Jackson.
Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 25, 2008 at the Hall-Wynne Funeral chapel. The Rev. Ron Christ and Rev. Morris Westbrook will preside. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be 7:00-9:00 p.m. Friday, October 24, 2008 at Hall- Wynne Funeral Home in Durham and other times at the home.
A Special Thank You is extended to the Medical personnel and the staff at Duke University Medical Center, Select Specialty Hospital in Durham and Blue Ridge Health Care Center in Raleigh as well as his many friends and neighbors for their guidance, care, concerns and support during the many weeks we traveled this difficult road.
