W. Wilson Obituary
April 27, 1946 – April 30, 2018
Louisburg
William Woodrow "Woody" Wilson, Jr., 72, of Louisburg, died Monday morning. Woody was preceded in death by his parents William and Estelle H. Wilson.
Woody was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, and mentor. He was an army combat Veteran of the Vietnam War and attended East Carolina University. He was a hard working co-owner of Rustic Building Supply, owner of Wilson Taxidermy, Wilson Designs, a general contractor and avid hunter. Woody served on the Board of Trustees of Louisburg United Methodist Church and was an active member. Whenever he knew of a need in the community, he was a kind and charitable soul. He was described by his friends as being full of life and sprinkled with charisma.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Louisburg United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Woody is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Linda N. Wilson; sons, Brad Wilson, Paul Wilson and wife, Jamie; step-mother, Helen W. Wilson; sister and brother-in-law, Linda W. and Jimmy Cottrell; step-sisters, Mary Ellen Johnson, Martie Boone and Alice Seybert; grandchildren, Connor, Natalie, Lindsay and Abby; uncle, Gerald F. Wilson; nieces, Pam Young, Lisa Mosley and Lou Rigsbee.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Louisburg United Methodist Church, Building Fund, P.O. Box 667, Louisburg, NC 27549.
