Walter Wilbert Gruber, Jr, 85, peacefully passed away Monday, July 24th, 2017. He was born in Lemoyne, PA to Walter W. Gruber, Sr and Mable B. Gruber. He worked with the Federal Aviation Administration until retirement and is an Air Force veteran. Walt was a longtime member of Cary Presbyterian Church. He was an avid sports fan and fisherman. He also coached Little League baseball and basketball and closely followed the Carolina Hurricanes and Panthers. He is survived by his wife Ann, of 63 years, sons Jeff and wife Terry, Mark, and wife Kathy, Grey, and eight grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Cary Presbyterian Church at 614 Griffis Street, Cary NC 27511 at 1:00pm Saturday, August 5th with a Memorial service to follow. Private interment in columbarium following service.

I haven't seen Mr. Gruber in 50 years but still remember him as my coach in little league for Mitchell's Pharmacy. He helped a little, skinny kid that had only lived in Cary a few years get into something he really enjoyed. I am sorry for your loss.
