Wayne Arthur Basak, 83, passed away Friday, June 24, 2016 at his home in Raleigh. He was born February 5, 1933 in Chicago, IL to the late Rudolph Basak and Rose Kotiza Basak. He worked as a purchasing manager for 30 years with ATT. He served his country in the United Stated Marine Corps where he received a Purple Heart for his service in the Korean War.
Wayne could do almost anything. He was always willing to teach what he knew and learn what he didn't, a jack of all trades and a mentor to many.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at a later date at North Ridge Church, 7601 Falls of Neuse Rd, Raleigh, NC 27615.
Military committal of his urn will take place at Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors.
Surviving: wife of 63 years, Pearl Hinkfus Basak; daughter, Susan Jeanette Baker (Jay) of Raleigh, NC; sons: David Wayne Basak (Donna) of St. Charles, IL, Philip Wayne Basak (Debbie) of Aurora, IL, Stephen Wayne Basak (Erika) of Concord, CA; grandchildren: Eric Basak, Adam Basak, Sean Baker (Jennifer), Cailyn Baker, Jasmine Basak, Gabriel Basak, and Brynna Basak; sister: Pat Anderson of Spokane, Washington; brother in law: George Hinkfus of Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to North Ridge Church.

Please accept my condolence for your loss. We are all comforted by the promises at John 6:40, Isaish 65:17, Psalma 37:10,11 and 34. These show us a future for our loved ones who has died. I hope this bring some comfort to the family.
