William Maultsby Obituary

Dr. William D. Maultsby, Jr., 80, of Whiteville, N.C. died Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at his residence. He was the son of the late William DeVane Maultsby, Sr. and Mary Warren Maultsby and preceded in death by a brother, John Warren Maultsby.
Dr. Maultsby served in the U.S. Army for 38 years and was involved in the Korean Conflict. He was also a member of the Whiteville Civitan Club, American Legion, Whiteville Country Club and the Romeo Club. He was a member of Whiteville United Methodist Church. Dr. Maultsby had a Dental Practice in Whiteville. for over 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Britton Maultsby of Whiteville; daughter, Jennifer M. Mills and husband, Darren Lee of Whiteville; two sons, William D. Maultsby, III and wife, Anne Inge of Whiteville and David B. Maultsby and wife, Kristi Ellis of Whiteville; brother, Thomas Neil Maultsby of Burlington; grandchildren, Amanda Maultsby, Zack Maultsby, Samantha Mills, Emily Maultsby, David Maultsby, Jr.
The funeral service will be held Friday, February 6, 2009, at the Whiteville United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Hope Vickers officiating with burial following in the Whiteville Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday night, February 5, 2009 at McKenzie Mortuary from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the Whiteville United Methodist Church, 902 Pinckney Street, Whiteville, NC. 28472, or a Charity of ones choice.
