William "Billy" Morton Mitchell
Fuquay-Varina
William Morton Mitchell, 75, died Monday, August 8, 2011 surrounded by his loved ones. The funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, 401 N Ennis Street, Fuquay-Varina. Burial will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park, Raleigh.
Mr. Mitchell was born in Wake County to the late William C. and Lallie Morton Mitchell. He was also predeceased by his son, Jeff Mitchell.
Billy served in the US Air Force and in his community as an insurance agent for twenty six years. He was a member of the Raleigh Civitan Club, a Mason in the William Bain Lodge 231, and a life member of the Sons of the Confederate Veterans. He will be missed greatly by his many friends and family.
He is survived by his son, Todd Mitchell of Houston, Texas; sister, Joyce Lee and husband, Calvin of Fuquay-Varina; brothers, Clyde Mitchell and wife, Bunny of Raleigh, and Ralph Mitchell and wife Irene of Louisburg; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many special nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at Thomas Funeral Home.
Many thanks for the special care given to Billy by the Cancer Centers of NC and the ICU at Rex Healthcare.
