I have just learned of Bill´s passing. I´m so sorry to hear this. Bill´s mother, Dorothy was my godmother . I loved her dearly. The last time I spoke with Bill was just after my mom´s passing.

I was so sorry to hear about the passing of Bill Morrison. What a wonderful spirit. We worked together at the News & Observer. He was a beautiful writer and film and theater critic. He was also a great friend. He had a great sense of humor. He was a great storyteller and loved flowers, plants and dogs. He hosted the best Christmas parties and knew how to cheer a friend up. I'll always treasure surprising him for his birthday with a feast of foods at his house. We ate, laughed and enjoyed his company. I love you Bill. Billie, I hope you'll be okay. Bridgette

Truly a very talented man who enjoyed music and passed it on to others during his life time. My children had the pleasure of knowing him through Billy Farmer in band many years ago. Thanks to you two music still plays a big part in their lives. May you find comfort in the days to come that memories shared will still be alive for us. Ellendr Mills

As N&O entertainment editor (Goings On, Anne Twiggs) I knew Bill Morrison (before his beard), who succeeded me as entertainment editor. Sorry to see him go.

I'm really going to miss Bill. I worked with him at the Franklin County Library. He always had such interesting stories and a great sense of humor.
