Knew Ed through our "softball" days! We both were lifelong members of the DISL, and we had some great "discussions" during many games!
Damn good man, my sincere condolences to his family & friends!

Condolences to Ed's family. I have great memories of playing ball with Ed umping our games. I also remember playing against his team. He was a good natured guy and never seemed to get upset. A real gentleman for sure.

I used to babysit the 3 Nessel boys and my mother Ruby Bergstone was friends with Mary Nessel. Ed was a kind man with a great sense of humor. Dear Leona, Steve and I send our love, hugs and prayers to you and your family from the Kozmas.

So sorry to hear of Ed's passing. I bowled with Ed for many years in the firemen league, and he umpire many of my softball games. He was always the first to congratulate you if you had a good game. A great gentleman. My condolences to his family. May he RIP. Donald Butler. Germantown F. D.

My heart goes out to you all, especially Leona , in your sorrow and grief. I have such fond memories of the stories Kurt told me about his giant cousins. Ed was a gentle giant. I always looked forward to chatting with him. He may be gone, but not forgotten. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Valerie

Eddie was such a nice guy. It was always a pleasure to play ball when he was umpiring. He was always quick with a joke and made sure of setting a tone for those of us that may have taken the game a bit too serious. My condolences to his family.
