David Lynch Obituary

David Michael Lynch D.D.S
NEW MILFORD –David Michael Lynch D.D.S., age 81, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2023, at Danbury Hospital surrounded by his family. He was a devoted husband for 58 years to his high school sweetheart, Nancyann (Baroni) Lynch, a cherished father to six and grandfather to eleven. As a beloved dentist, he was a pillar of the New Milford community and embodied dedication, compassion, and service. His legacy is one of professional excellence and great love for God and his family.
David was born on September 10, 1942, in Akron, Ohio, to the late Gerard and Margaret (Beilhart) Lynch. He and his family moved to Westchester, NY when he was a teenager where he attended Archbishop Stepinac High School. He was a member of the football team and was highly active in school activities, including a lead role in "Of Thee I Sing" where he met the love of his life, Nancy. He attended Manhattan College and graduated with Honors from Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery in 1967. David proudly served his country first as one of only four graduating dental students being awarded an Army internship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, and then later at Fort Stewart and Fort Meade as a Captain in the Dental Corps from 1967 until 1970.
For over five decades, Dr. Lynch was a dentist in New Milford, dedicated to patients who regarded him as a skilled doctor and a gentle man with a charming sense of humor. Giving back to the profession he loved, he was twice appointed by the Governor as a Commissioner for the State of Connecticut Dental Commission. He was a long-standing member and examiner with Northeast Regional Board of Dental Examiners. Among his many honors, he was an active member of the Greater Danbury Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, President of the Connecticut Society of Dentistry for Children and was inducted into the Horace Wells Club.
In honor of his dearly departed infant son, Dr. Lynch proudly created the Patrick Lynch Fund, which is committed to dental and medical assistance for those in need. He considered the opportunity to perform dentistry more than a profession-it was a privilege.
Dr. Lynch was a devout parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Church, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. He enjoyed gardening, skiing, town basketball leagues and he was a lover of music and literature. Dr. Lynch was also a former scout leader with a taste for High Adventure Canoeing and an enthusiastic fan of college basketball. He savored the moments spent with his extensive family and found his greatest fulfillment in their company.
In addition to his beloved wife Nancy, he is survived by his children David M. Lynch, Jr. of Cambridge, MA, Timothy Lynch (Wendy) of Danbury, Kelly Tierney (Shawn) of New Milford, Mark Lynch (Jessie) of Woodbury, Kaitlin Teehan (Christopher) of Medfield, MA, and grandchildren Veronica, Madison, Riley, and Cole Tierney, Annarita and Jamison Lynch, Jack, Joey, and Ruby Lynch, and Thomas and Luke Teehan. He is also survived by his siblings Jerry Lynch (Jeri) of HI, Tara Althaus of AZ, Brian Lynch
(Gerrilyn) of MA, Kevin Lynch (Melanie) of AK, and Colin Lynch (Kelly) of CA. He was predeceased by his son Patrick, his brothers-in-law Thomas Althaus, Michael Martin and by his in-laws Dr. Roland and Kathleen Baroni.
All are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Francis Xavier Church26 Chestnut Land Rd, New Milford, CT on Saturday, January 6th at 11am. Burial will be private. Our thoughts go out to the Lynch family this Christmas. What a wonderful friend and neighbor he was for so many years. I remember again the circle parties, the fishing trips and the many times he gave horticultural advice that was greatly appreciated. His legacy is found in his wonderful family. God bless you all

Hello Mr. Lynch and Family,
I served on several licensure examinations with your father Dr. Lynch, particularly when they were held in Farmington. Dr. Lynch was respected and admired by all the examiners. I enjoyed serving alongside with Dr. Lynch, until three years ago, when I retired,. We had many pleasant conversations when time permitted. I extend my deepest sympathies for your loss.
