Edward Share Obituary

Edward G. Share
Edward G. Share, 86, of Danbury, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2021, at Regional Hospice and Palliative Care Center, Danbury after a long battle with cancer. Ed was born on November 22, 1934, in Yonkers, New York, son of the late Eva and Alfred Share. He was the loving husband of Lucille, his high school sweetheart. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, positive attitude, and resilience. He loved his family and had a strong work ethic. Prior to his retirement, Ed was the proprietor of Sew-Vac located at 119 South St., Danbury. Ed was a member of St. Joseph Church of Danbury and had served as a Eucharistic Minister. In addition to his wife Lucille, he is survived by two daughters, Linda Lewis and Laura Switzer, and her husband Ron. He was the grandfather to Gregory and Lauren who he adored and was so proud of. The family wishes to thank Dr. David Weinshel for his years of friendship and care, as well as the attentive and compassionate staff at Regional Hospice. In addition to his parents, Mr. Share was predeceased by his son-in-law Robert Lewis. Due to concerns about social gatherings affecting us all at this time, a Mass of Christian Burial will be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph Parish, 8 Robinson Ave., Danbury 06810.

Dear Lucille, Linda, and Laura,
I am heartbroken to hear of your loss. I taught at South Street School for 26 years of my teaching career. Practically every day I went out for a walk past the Sew Vac. Edward and I chatted often. He spoke so highly of his family over the years. It was always a bright spot in my day to just open the door and say hello. You are all blessed to have had such a wonderful husband/father. It was an honor to have called Edward my friend. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time.

Ed had been the only person to do any work on my sewing machine, and that's how I met him while searching for someone to do so. He was always kind & thoughtful. When my husband & I retired to Glen Crest apartments, there he was with wife Lucille, & our friendship continued. He will be missed by many. Condolences to his special family.
