He was a member of the Cretans Association Minos-Crete in Springfield, MA, Assumption Greek Orthodox Church in Danbury, and Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Waterbury.
Besides his wife Christine of 61 years, he leaves behind his three children; Peter Marnelakis and his wife Donna of Danbury, George Marnelakis and his wife Michelle of Southbury, and Argero Hamilakis and her husband George of Southbury. He will be greatly missed by his six grandchildren; Christine, Elefterios, Christo, Eftihios, Mihali and Xristina. He is also survived by his two sisters; Eleni Stathatos and her husband Peter and Dimitra Vourvouchakis and her husband Emmanuel all of Rhode Island, his brother Yianni Marnelakis of Crete, as well as many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
