Ines Freuler Obituary

FREULER, INES O.
INES 0. FREULER, We suddenly lost Ines Freuler, forever known to her family as Schatzie on 7/25, a short month after her 85th birthday. Born in Bern Switzerland on June 15, 1928 to Olga Meyer and Emil Pauli, she immigrated to New York on the Queen Elizabeth in 1950 and always told us how excited she was to see the Statue of Liberty for the first time. Ever proud of her Swiss heritage, she was a devoted mother, grandmother and mother-in-law, and was truly the light of our lives. During her full life, she had been a manager in the retail business, a business broker and a dog and house sitter in her retirement years. She loved art, colors, decorating, gardening, cooking for her family and counseling us in all matters with her wisdom. She was predeceased by her brothers Rene Pauli, a renowned photographer in San Francisco in 1999, and Max Pauli in Switzerland in 2013. She is survived by her brother Hans Pauli in Switzerland. In Sandy Hook, CT, she is survived by her daughter Barbara Freuler-Chimileski and four grandchildren, Scott, Lindsay, Andrew, Brock and son in law Ken. In Los Osos, CA, she is survived by her daughter Esther Freuler-Hartig and three grandchildren, Kyle, Keenan, Morgan and son in law Gary. A memorial service for friends and family will be held at the Newtown Congregational Church, 14 West St. Newtown CT, on Saturday August 3rd at 11:00 am., followed by a private ceremony at Newtown Village Cemetery.
