I was shocked to hear of John's recent passing. I had the privilege and pleasure of working with John for many years. He was a well-liked and respected colleague and teacher. His knowledge of history and sense of humor were a gift to his students and co-workers.

My grandson Izaiah had Mr. Schlogl last year at Rogers Park. He was quite upset today hearing if his passing. We use to chuckle quite a bit last year about how much work Mr.Schlgl assigned. Izaiah always made it a priority. He wouldn´t think about not doing Mr. Schogl´s work! Although he came off as a tough guy, I saw he always put the kids first. Condolences to his family.

Such sad news as Sabrina messaged me this morning. Schlogl was the kind of teacher that changes a child´s life! Thank you for letting us be us and giving us the best memories and greatest friendships that one year back in 2004.
My condolences to Mr. Schlogls family.

I write this with such profound sadness and yet with wonderful memories. I taught with John for many years at Rogers Park Middle School. He was an amazing teacher and loyal colleague. My sincere sympathy is offered to John´s family.
