Philip Riddles Obituary

Philip J. Riddles
Philip J. Riddles, 59, of New Fairfield, CT, passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2021, at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He was born on April 14, 1962, in the Bronx, NY. Phil was predeceased by his parents Peg and Al Riddles. He is survived by his loving wife, Janet of 29 years, sister and brothers: Patricia Berte, Lawrence Riddles, Andrew Riddles; Neil Riddles, and Kenneth Riddles, many nieces and nephews, and his beloved German Shepherd, Maverick.
Phil was raised in Scarsdale, NY where he attended the Scarsdale Public Schools. This is where he made many incredible lifetime friends, met his wife, and experienced some of his most treasured memories. Phil also spent the summers on Candlewood Isle, shared unforgettable times, and loved the Holiday gatherings with his family. He will be remembered as someone who was always up for a good adventure, never too busy to lend a hand, was loved for his down-to-earth personality and quick sarcastic humor. He was honored to know that he was the favorite Uncle. He also enjoyed his weekends camping in New Hampshire, where he continued to build more friendships.
Phil was especially admired for his extended talents of building beautiful things, technical expertise in carpentry, precision, and problem-solving skills, taxicab automotive mechanics and not to mention his collaboration on numerous family construction projects.
Phil was just an all-around wonderful human being and kept his charming personality to the very end. The world is a little less bright without him.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 29, 2021, at 11 a.m. at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 21 Brush Hill Rd., New Fairfield, CT. Interment will take in Mountain View Cemetery, New Fairfield. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the New Fairfield Sherman Animal Welfare Society, P.O. Box 8232, New Fairfield, CT 06812 www.nfsaw.org

Phil,
Gonna miss you. Nothing we did or built ever took anymore than 45 minutes, even when we put a new floor in my sisters camper. Have lots of great memories with you.
Rest in peace my friend.

Uncle Phil was one of a kind. We only have fond memories of him. He was always fun, funny, helpful, and great to be around. I’ll never forget him taking us all out on the lake in the boat. Tubing, waterskiing and pulling in the dock. He was truly the fun uncle and he will be missed.
