Shiv Gupta Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the untimely passing of Dr. Shiv M. Gupta.
Dr Gupta was a respected physician, loving husband, father and grandfather of three. He died at the age of 71 on December 14, 2015 in South Carolina.
He is survived by his wife Kathryn Gupta, his daughters Dr. Sapna Westley and Dr. Fiona Gupta and his son Neil Gupta. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Dr. Asha Gupta.
Dr. Gupta was born in India in 1945 where he completed medical school. He then moved to Fiji and New Zealand where he also practiced medicine. He moved to Danbury in 1978 where he served as the chief of Nuclear Medicine at Danbury Hospital for over twenty years. He was very dedicated to research as well as providing the highest level of care to his patients.
Dr. Gupta was a great family man and loving father. He was an active, social man who enjoyed golf, travel, and most of all spending time with his children and grandchildren. His family and friends will always remember him as a generous, benevolent and selfless man who cared deeply for others and took great pride in his work.
A memorial is scheduled for Saturday 12/19/15 at 1pm. It will take place at the Wilton Hindu Mandir located at 68 Westport Rd, Wilton CT 06897.

I am saddened to hear of Dr. Gupta's passing. Shiv was a kind and gentle man, a skilled and compassionate physician, and a respected colleague. I always enjoyed discussing scientific and medical topics of mutual interest with him and I miss our lunchtime conversations about current events after he retired. We, Mahnendra and Hansa Ashar knew vey well Dr. Gupta and his first wife and family culturally and later as a physician. We were few times at his house for our cultural programs meeting at that time his wife was in chair but her health was not good. We will miss him. Praying for his heavenly passage to God.
