Wilma Henry Obituary

Wilma Henry
1926-2022
Our dear Mother, Wilma Reynolds Henry, passed peacefully from earth to heaven on September 28, 2022, at the age of 96. Born on April 20, 1926 she was the daughter of Carrie Loiuse and William Sunderland Reynolds. She graduated from Danbury High School in 1945. She was predeceased by her loving husband J. Robert Henry, Sr. in 2003.
She was a member of St. Peter's Church, St. Peter's Ladies Guild, the Emblem Club and the American Cancer Society.
Wilma was artistically gifted, an avid gardener and loved to read. She had a daily agenda, which reflected in her work ethic. She took pride in how much she could accomplish each day. She was completely independent until she was 93 years old. Still driving and taking care of all her needs. She was very meticulous with her home and yard. Wilma always remarked how proud she was to be a member of "America's Greatest Generation".
Wilma lived her life for the wellbeing of her family. She was a loving, caring and devoted wife and mother. Wilma was everything and more than her family could have ever asked for. She was an inspiration and guiding light to her family. We will be forever blessed for having her in our lives.
When a loved one becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure.
God bless you mom, you will be forever in our hearts.
Wilma is survived by her two adoring children, J. Robert Henry, Jr. (Deborah) and Judith Henry Kilian (Edward). Five loving grandchildren, Melyssa and Ryan Henry, Carrie Sirois, Kathryn DeMoura and Edward Kilian III. Wilma was also blessed with 7 beautiful great-grandchildren.
Wilma was fortunate and appreciative to have a wonderful caregiver Belle. Belle showed our mother love, respect, consideration and devotion for over three years. Due to Belle's loving care, Wilma enjoyed a quality of life and comfort to the end in her own home. We wish to thank the Ridgefield Visiting Nurses for the quality of care and comfort they provided for our mother.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Peter's Church (104 Main Street, Danbury). Interment will follow immediately at St. Peter's Cemetery (Lake Avenue Extension, Danbury). To leave a condolence for the family, please visit www.danburymemorial.com.
