Angela Bontz Obituary

Angela Braiden Bontz
Born: August 24, 1978
Died: September 29, 2022
Angela Braiden Bontz 44 of Peru passed away unexpectedly on September 29. A scripture service will be Saturday October 8th, at 11:30 in the Burgess Funeral home in La Salle. Reverend Michael Pica, Parochial Vicar of La Salle Catholic Parishes will officiate. Visitation will be Friday October 7th from 4 to 7 in the Burgess Funeral Home in La Salle. Additional visitation will be in the funeral home on Saturday from 9:30 until the time of services.
Angela Braiden Bontz was a compassionate, nurturing, and loving soul.
Family was extremely important to her. She has three daughters (Kaylan, Addie, and Claire) whom she loved dearly. She enjoyed attending Kaylan's softball games, band recitals, school dances throughout the years, was always lending a helping hand, was there during such transformational moments in Kaylan's life, and through everything was always so supportive. She was a wonderful Grandma to Kaylan's two sons, Ryker and Jaze. Angela also loved spending time with her daughters Addison and Claire. She was actively attending their sporting events, school programs, and dances. She loved to ride in her jeep with Addie for coffee trips and shopping dates. They loved to blast rap music and have fun times. She was so grateful for Claire's giving soul; helping Claire set up lemonade stands, so that they could donate money to our local IVAR, went hiking and swimming in the lake to enjoy nature, but secretly so Claire could capture a minnow and try to convince her mom it needed to come home with them. She adored being a mother and was so good at it. Through small vacations to South Haven, or shopping trips, visits to her Grandchildren…she never missed a moment. She was always involved somewhere.
Her husband, Adam Bontz, was her rock. They shared 20 (if not more) beautiful years together. They loved having friends over for get-togethers, supporting Adam's gig with dreamwave and other hobbies and businesses, walking their two dogs Cali and Gedi, going for hikes, and simply just being at home together cooking meals or sitting on their deck. She was the first born of Kathy and Gavin Vance. They had such a close relationship, even so close that they lived just a few blocks from one another. Her best friend and brother, Michael, they have an unbreakable bond they will continue to share forever. Her in-laws, Barb and Louis Bontz, held such a special parental role. They loved her as if she was there own, because truly she was.
Angela was extremely passionate about her furbabies, including the many strays that gravitated to her home. She would always welcome them with her "open paws policy". These wonderful traits carried with her through her life also aided in thriving through her occupations. She spent many years running a daycare out of her home, and she treated each child no different from her own. In more recent time she had created a successful grooming business with her good friend Abby. They took their time to bond and provide nothing less than they were capable of for their furry friends and parents.
Angela was, is, and will always be in our eyes the definition of perfection. She was truthfully beautiful inside and out. Her energy was radiating and addicting; she lit up a room. She will be greatly missed but she will be most importantly remembered and forever cherished for all she has done for her children, family, friends, and the community.
List of survivors include: Her husband, Adam Bontz; Daughters, Kaylan, Addison, and Claire; Mother and Father, Kathy and Gavin Vance; Brother, Michael Vance, In-laws, Barb and Louis Bontz; Brother in-law, Jared Bontz, and grandchildren, Ryker and Jaze Sudaj.
Preceded in death by: Maternal side- Grandparents, Donald and Shirley Pickett; Aunt Connie.
Fraternal side- Grandparents, Walter Addington Vance and Sue Flemming; Uncle Bob, cousin Erich, and her cousin Tucker.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family for her favorite charities.
