Jean F. Conway, 99, of Ladd, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2025 in Pleasant View Healthcare of Ottawa.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, December 6, 2025, in St. Barbara Parish, Holy Trinity Catholic Church site, Cherry, with Fr. Gregory Jarzombek OSB Officiating. Interment will follow in Valley Memorial Park, Spring Valley. Her family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass Saturday in the Church. Jean was born on March 3rd, 1926, to Roy M and Helen (Pervier) Conway. She grew up in Ladd and graduated from Hall township H.S. (Class of 1944) and from Mt. Mary College in Milwaukee Wi. (Class of 1948). Jean later obtained a master's degree in library science from Rosary college in River Forest. Jean was a civilian teacher for the U.S. Air Force from 1957 - 1963. First teaching at Johnson Air Force base in Japan and later at Ramstein Air base in Germany. In 1965 Jean went to work for Northern Trust bank in Chicago and worked there until 1983 when she went back to Japan and taught conversational English to Japanese students for the next 2 1/2 years. Jean returned to the U.S. to finish out her working career at Northern Trust Bank and moved to California in 1987. Jean retired in 1990 returning to her hometown of Ladd Illinois where she was an active member of the community. Jean volunteered for the Spring Valley Food Pantry, the Depue Library and taught English as a second Language (ESL) for over 17 years, first at IVCC and then individually.
Jean was proceeded in death by her parents, twin sister Marjorie Farr and younger sister Patricia Muratori and a nephew Raymond Muratori.
Jean is survived by a special person Lori Wojciechowski (Tom) of Utica. Her nephew Michael Farr of Olney, Maryland, her niece Susan Honacker (Ken) of Union Bridge, Maryland and many great and great great nieces and nephews. Jean also leaves behind her cherished pet cat Marti.
