Died: August 14, 2022 in Peru, IL
William K. "Bill" "Moe" Janz, 87, of Peru, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2022 at Heritage Health, Peru.
Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at the Mueller Funeral Home, Peru with Rev. Alex Garncarz, pastor of Zion United Church of Christ, Peru officiating. Burial will follow in Peru City Cemetery with full military rites conducted by the Peru Veterans Memorial Group. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until the time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Janz was born November 11, 1934 to William Carl and Adeline Emma (Wolter) Janz. He served in the U.S. Navy. He worked at Westclox as a tool and die maker, he was a tool room foreman at Hobbs, and retired from Caterpillar in 1996. He married Shirley Ganze on December 3, 1960 in Gardena, CA. Bill was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, Peru and the Illinois Valley Radio Control Club.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley of Peru and a son, William D. Janz of Haymarket, VA.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers will be Scott Ganze, David Ganze, Kevin Kugath, George Peters, Storm Crouch, Harold Dzierzynski, and Jim Pagani.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Zion United Church of Christ, Peru or to the Illinois Valley Radio Control Club.
