Christopher Nuckols Obituary

SWOOPE

Christopher Edward Nuckols, 21, of 64 Log Cabin Lane, Swoope, bid family and friends "goodbye" Feb. 21, 2006, at his residence. He was born May 15, 1984, in Staunton a son of Mark E. Nuckols and Michelle Snyder Nuckols, both of Staunton. Christopher was a graduate of Buffalo Gap High School, Class of 2002, where he was on the All State Football Team. He was employed by Nuckols Gun Works in Staunton. He was a member of the National Rifle Association. In addition to his parents, family members include a brother, Michael "Pickle" Nuckols; step-mother, Cindy Nuckols; his girlfriend, Kelsey Lounsbery; paternal grandfather, Ernie Nuckols of Staunton; maternal grandparents, Pam Snyder of Staunton and David Snyder of Houston, Texas; his maternal great-grandmother, Juanita Mullins of Staunton; aunts, Cindy Marshall and her husband, Tim, Heather Tyree and her husband, Joe, Kriston Snyder and her special friend, Tim Ellis, Stephanie Grisham and her husband, Ross; a great-aunt, Dana Eastman and her husband, Rick; and cousins, Jaidon Snyder, Kemper Snyder, Chandler Snyder, Henry Tyree, Graeson Tyree, Leann Marshall, and Connie Marshall.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Lois Nuckols; paternal great-grandparents, Lee and Marjorie Nuckols; and his maternal great-grandfather, Eugene Mullins.

Bubba, the name given to him by his brother, was loved by everyone he met. His family and friends were always the most important things in his life. Especially his little brother, who idolized him. Bubba was a great football player and gets the credit for teaching Pickle the game. He loved the mountains of Highland County and going hunting with his Paw-Paw, Dad, uncles, and cousins. As he got older, he developed a talent and love for music. The many wonderful memories and music he made for us in 21 years will light all of our lives forever. Thank you Bubba.

A celebration of his life will be conducted at 2 p.m. Feb. 24, 2006, in the Second Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Dr. Daniel S. Williams and the Rev. John W. Ashley. Burial will follow in Thornrose Cemetery.
