Woodrow Luckett Obituary

Woodrow Melvin Luckett, 75, of 424 Smith St., Waynesboro, formerly of Nimrod Hall, Millboro, died late April 5, 2006, at the Augusta Medical Center in Fishersville.

He was born at Nimrod Hall, Millboro, Bath County, on April 22, 1930, a son of the late George and Annie Long Luckett.

He was a retired mechanic. He was a very active member of the congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses of Waynesboro. He enjoyed his ministry to God.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rosalee Luckett; a son, Kevin Luckett; brothers, Wilkie Luckett and George McDonald Luckett; sisters, Eva Crockett, Maggie Jefferson, Josephine Green and Etta Stowe.

He is survived by his wife, Lillian H. Luckett of Saluda, Va.; a daughter, Barbara Luckett of Charlottesville; a son, Woodrow Melvin Luckett Jr. of Charlottesville; two sisters, Janet Robinson of Millboro and Jane Moss of New York; two brothers, Walter Luckett and Wendell Luckett, both of Millboro; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a special niece, Dora Robinson of Staunton; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted April 15, 2006, from the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Waynesboro at 2 p.m., with Jay Waylan officiating.

The family will receive friends prior and after the memorial service in the Kingdom Hall.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions in Woodrow M. Luckett's name to the Congregation of Jehovah's Witness, Kingdom Hall, Waynesboro, Va., 22980.

Service arrangements were handled by Nicely Funeral Home in Clifton Forge.
