Mack Wright Obituary
Waverly, Ohio Mack Herschel Wright, 85, of Waverly, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 2, 2024 at his residence while surrounded by his family.
Mack was born March 10, 1939 to the late Curtis and Mary Elizabeth (Lemaster) Wright. On June 10, 1960, he married the love of his life, Linda (Palmer) Wright, who survives.
Mack's Legacy lives on through his daughters, Lisa Clemmons, Kim Noble, and Vicki (Bill) Hoover. Papaw, as he was called, was beyond proud of his grandsons, Trent Noble, Hunter (Sierra) Hoover, Trey Clemmons, Landon Hoover, and was awaiting the arrival of his first great-grandson and namesake, Oliver Mack Hoover. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Thomas Mackenzie Noble.
Mack was also preceded in death by his brother Kenneth Wright and Sisters, Rosalie Sparks, Cleo Woods, and Della Rigsby. He is survived by sister, Carol Murray, and brother, Lowell Wright.
Mack was a Waverly High School graduate, class of 1958. He served in the United States Army in Fort Knox, Kentucky beginning in 1962 and loved serving his country. He then Started a forty-year career at Mead Paper Company, where he was Superintendent of Maintenance until his retirement.
Mack devoted his life to his family and his church. He was a great man of faith who loved the Lord and was an active member of Mary Chapel Church. He was a member of the Waverly Orient Masonic Lodge #321 F & A Masons of Ohio. He enjoyed cooking, preparing many meals for his family as well as his church family. He also found pleasure in woodworking, golf, taking care of his lawn, and watching college football, especially Ohio State Buckeyes.
Mack was known by many of his friends and colleagues as "The Wright One". A man of few words, his actions were a testament to his character. Always for the underdog, Mack's words carried great meaning. A problem solver, Mack has left an indelible legacy to commitment to family, servitude in glory to The Father and a dedication to fight until the very end.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., at Boyer Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 with Elder Arvil Murray officiating. Friends may join the family for visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service on Wednesday. Mack Herschel Wright
