Dear David, Linda and April, We've had the pleasure of witnessing your family's love and closeness as neighbors. Unlike some families you never have to wish you had spent more time together or said something more, because you are the ideal family. Byron's character will live on in your memories. It was a pleasure to have known him.

David,
I am so incredibly sad for you and your family in the loss of your son. He sounds like a wonderful young man with so many talents and dreams. Losing a child is tragic but I hope knowing that he was a Christian and that you have your faith on which to rely will help ease your pain.
I remember our days of working together at Workman and always loved your sweet attitude and those days in the lounge with you, Willie, Debbie, and Kandi. I retired in 2002 and in 2006 Rodney and I moved to Franklin, TN, to be near two of our children.
You and your wife and daughter will be in my thoughts and prayers. I pray God will shower you with love and grace to face these sad times.
Much love,
Patty Taylor

Grief are you growing there like a strong oak tree? Someone else planted you and I watered you carefully with my tears.
Your branches stretch out long and sturdy seemimg almost to touch heaven. Your leaves garnish your skin with green life amongst my brown being. Your roots go down-down-down deep into my brain, their nails digging in- not giving up.
I wrap my arms around your bulky life and realize your strength. I am small like a child against your grain. Oh Grief! Will you soon let go? I see the in and out mirror reflected light through your foliage. I can almost see it clearly when the wind blows. The light of heaven. I glimpse it now and then. I step through your gnarly vein system and think of life pumping through below my shoe. I will pluck off a green friend and see a little more of me appearing.
Slowly, very slowly, for fear of giving you up, Grief, I chance to look past you. Your mountainous prescence hovers over me. I must grow wings and rise above you towering glory. My God will grant me this! He sees me in my cocoon and he knows that through much difficulty, I will emerge, much stronger than before with my wings in tact. Then, I will lift above you grief, slowly, gently, peacefully, and I will look down at your prescence from high up above and will see my precious Savior's Love!

April 2005, My sister wrote these precious words to me within a few days of my son's funeral. She could feel the overwhelming grief in my voice as she spoke to me and with her loving care she reached out to comfort me.
