Alfreda Kolakowski Obituary
Alfreda Kolakowski, age 93, wife of the late Burton D. Kolakowski and longtime resident of Ansonia recently of West Hartford, entered into eternal rest Aug. 19. She was born June 1, 1925 in Derby, daughter of the late Stephen & Sophie Marganski Biga. Alfreda worked as a secretary for the former Seymour Specialty Wire Co. She was a parishioner of The Church of the Assumption in Ansonia and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters Cheryl Sosnovich (Peter) of Stuart Fl. & Debra Schiller (Stephen) of West Hartford, granddaughter Caitlin Schiller of Berlin, Germany and several nieces & nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by siblings Rose Klesyk, Alice Debski, Frances Tuccio, Stella Romanowski, and Alfred, Stanley & Maximillian Biga. Friends may call on Friday 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia. (www.jenkinskingfh.com) The funeral will leave for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of the Assumption in Ansonia. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to The Assumption School Scholarship Fund, 51 N. Cliff St. Ansonia, CT. 06401.

Dear Cheryl & Deb,
We are sending our condolences on the loss of your mom. Now all the card players are together again. I remember all the fun your parents and mine had on those card nights. Where did all the time go? Your mom was a very special lady, lots of fun. I miss all of them. I am lucky also to have good friends to have good times with. I am sorry I couldn't attend the services. I have been disabled for a few years, in a wheelchair and it is difficult to get out early in the morning. But I was praying with you all. I don't have your addresses, but I am hoping the funeral home lets me have them. Our love and prayers are with you.
