VECCHIO ANNA ELIZABETH DIPAOLA Anna Elizabeth DiPaola Vecchio, 66, of East Haven, died peacefully September 26, 2014; born March 27, 1948 in New Haven. Loving wife of Donald J. Vecchio, devoted mother of Michael (Dorothy) Vecchio and Andrea (Bobby) Proto, all of East Haven. Cherished grandmother of Tyler, Mia, Isabella, Averill, Talia, and Silas Vecchio and Robert and Seth Proto. Beloved sister of Antoinette (Antonio) Antonucci of Wallingford, Josephine (Peter) Cuozzo of Branford and Linda Butler of East Haven. She was predeceased by her parents Alfredo and Maria Teta DiPaola and brother-in-law Edwin Butler, Jr. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews. She recently retired from the University of New Haven, West Haven, where she worked as a Library Technical Assistant for over thirty years. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Pompeii Church and was a member of OLOP Ladies’ Guild. Her greatest joy was loving and caring for her family. She also enjoyed vacationing and spending time at the casinos. Her funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte 80) East Haven Wednesday morning at 9:00. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 9:30. Interment will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery in Branford. Friends may call TUESDAY from 5:00-8:00 PM. Having worked together with Anna in the UNH library for 20 years, I treasured her good sense, humor, and mighty efforts in keeping the library's journals and students under control. I am sorry she didn't have more time to enjoy retirement, though I know that her family gave her much joy in the time she did have. My prayers are with you her family now, and for Anna in her new version of retirement from this world into the next.

My dear Ann, R.I.P. my friend you fought a tough battle. We are going to miss you. We are glad we were able to spend sometime in July. We admired you for your attitude and strenght. We had many good times together, Disney, Myrtle Beach, and dinners. You are now an angel of God watching over your family. Love you and Don and you will never be forgotten.
