HUCKABY, BARBARA ANN Barbara Ann Huckaby 66, passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving family on Sunday, Aug. 2, 2015, at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury. Barbara was born on Dec. 27, 1948 to both the late Hilliard Huckabee and Ida Belle Threatt- Huckabee. Barbara is survived by her two sons Taron (Lisa) Huckabee of Conyers, GA Shawn (Kendra) Huckabee Sr. of New Haven, CT; One daughter Nicole Brown of New Haven, one Step Son Maurice Hammond 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Two sisters Patricia Pittman and Elaine Huckabee of New Haven, CT, one step brother Hiwatha McClease and 3 God daughters Lauren Stokes, Jessica and Bobbi Griffin and her son in love Brandon Brooks. She was predeceased by her one son Terrance Scott, her husband Richie Hammond, one brother Charles Huckabee and three sisters Ida Mae, Juanita and Cynthia Huckabee, two grandchildren Markeyse Buchanan Jr and Ahmed Ebron Jr. Barbara grew up in the Ashmun Street High Rise apartments and attended New Haven Public schools graduating from Wilbur cross high school in 1966. She went on to further her education at Albertus Magnus. She worked for Yale University and the New Haven Mayor’s office she retired from both Armstrong Rubber Company and Southern New England Phone Company. A celebration of life will be held Sat. Aug. 8, 2015 at 9 a.m. at The Salvation and Deliverance Church, 127 Thompson St. New Haven, CT 06511. Calling hours at 8 a.m. until time of service. Interment in Hamden Plains Cemetery.
