Christopher Del Sole Obituary

Christopher Paul Del Sole
Christopher Paul Del Sole of Seymour, CT passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord on December 9, 2022, at Vitas Hospice, St. Mary's Hospital after a brief battle with an extremely aggressive and rare cancer. Christopher was born on May 4, 1981, in Meriden, CT. He is the son of Stephen and Colleen (Ferguson) Del Sole of Wallingford, CT. Chris attended Xavier High School in Middletown, CT and St. Michael's College in Colchester, VT. For the last 14 years he was employed as the Marketing Director at Etter Engineering in Bristol, CT. Also, since the age of 15 he's been a part-time ski instructor and coach at Okemo Mountain Resort in Ludlow, VT. His passion for teaching skiing is how he met the love of his life, Meghan Nicole (O'Toole) Del Sole of Seymour, CT. They married on Oct. 2, 2010 in Ludlow, VT and settled in Seymour, CT. Chris and Meghan were blessed with three adorable children, Matthew (8), Lucas (6), and Natalie (3). In addition to his wife, parents, and children, Christopher is survived by his sister, Meghan Del Sole Frodge (Adam) of Leadville, CO. His paternal grandmother Jeanne-Marie (Collins) Del Sole of Wallingford, CT. His in-laws Michael and Nicolette (DiDio) O'Toole of Seymour, CT, brother-in-law, Patrick O'Toole (Sarah Kurisu) of Chester, VT, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Chris was deeply involved in the community; coaching his children's youth soccer teams and as a board member with the Housatonic Valley Chapter of the New England Mountain Bike Association (HV NEMBA), heavily supporting and maintaining the Rockhouse Hill Sanctuary in Oxford, CT. Chris loved life, family, and friends. His world revolved around his wife and children. He was deeply devoted and enjoyed many travel adventures with them which often included Disney, Skiing, the beaches and bike rail trails on Cape Cod, and hundreds and hundreds of miles logged on his mountain bike, oftentimes accompanied by all three of his children and his wife in tow. In remembrance of Chris, live life to the fullest, take the adventure, and #GetOffTheCouch. The family would like to express its deep gratitude to the many family and friends that have reached out to Chris and his family during this extremely difficult time, comforting, supporting, and assisting in so many ways. The family is also appreciative for the wonderful medical care that Chris received at the Smilow Cancer Center over these past seven weeks. His family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, December 15, 2022, from 4:00 to 7:30 p.m. in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia, CT. On Friday, December 16, 2022, all are invited to attend Chris's funeral by meeting directly at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of the Assumption, 61 North Cliff Street in Ansonia, CT for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will immediately follow in Mount Saint Peter's Cemetery in Derby, CT. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Housatonic Valley New England Mountain Bike Association, Vermont Adaptive Ski & Sports, or the Target Cancer Foundation to support research of rare cancers. I was totally shocked to read about Chris´ passing. As a teacher, there are always some outstanding students that you remember and Chris was one of those. I can see him clearly in my 7th grade classes at Moran Middle School, in Wallingford, with his bright smile and academic eagerness. I am sure that his children have inherited his love of learning and life. My deepest condolences to all the family.
