Cora Walton Obituary

Cora Walton, 79, of New Haven, departed this life May 24, 2017. Ms. Walton was born in Athens, GA, September 6, 1937. She was the daughter of the late Alvin and Mae Willie Morton. She leaves to cherish her memory, a brother, Rev. Richard Morton, Sr. of Hamden; sister, Veronica Morton of Athens, GA; a daughter in-law, Jeffie Morton of West Haven; five grandchildren, Sean, Kinisha, Kenny, Jeremy and Eric Random; nine great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Kenneth Morton; three sisters; and two brothers. A celebration of Ms. Walton's life and legacy will be held Saturday, June 3, 2017, at 9:30 AM at Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St., New Haven with Bishop Richard Morton, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Online guestbook available at curvinkcouncil.com
