Edward Sgro Obituary

Sgro, Edward Mass of Christian Burial for Edward David Sgro, age 65, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, who died Friday, June 22, 2012 at Bert Fish Medical Center will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, New Smyrna Beach with the Reverend John S. Murray officiating. Calling hours will be at Settle-Wilder's Chapel on Monday, June 25th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Tuesday, from 11 a.m. to 1p.m. Born on November 8, 1946 in New Haven, Connecticut to Ann and Vito Sgro, Edward moved to New Smyrna Beach in 2003 from Pennsylvania. He served in the United States Navy during Vietnam. A former manager for the former Bell Telephone Company and Verizon, he was an active member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church and enjoyed fishing, kayaking, reading, sitting on the beach and loving life. Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Nora; 1 daughter, Angela Nicoletta and her husband Carlo; 1 son, Michael Sgro; 2 grandchildren, Carlo and Megan Nicoletta and 2 sisters, Patricia Alleshunas and Nancy Sgro. Edward was preceded in death by his mother, father, and his brother, James. Memorial donations may be made in Mr. Sgro's memory to: Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central and Northern Florida, 1020 N.
