Ed was a good friend at Yale; he lived across the tiny hallway on the fifth floor of Saybrook in our sophomore year. One of his roommates, Thane Benedict, became my roommate in graduate school. I like to recall that we decided to change Ed's name from the nominative case (She-He) to the objective case (Her-Him). And for the rest of our time at Yale Ed would answer to "Her-Him," even permitting us to introduce him to strangers as Ed Her-Him. , totally deadpan.

Mary Rose and Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I remember one time, maybe a year ago, when I had dinner at your house with Sally and other friends... Mr. Sheehy was so warm and welcoming, offering us delicious food, drinks, and telling us funny stories. May the happy memories fill your hearts forever.
Sincerely,
Allison Pescik

I have known Ed since I joined the bar in the late 1970's. He was an accomplished and consummate lawyer. More importantly, he was a gentleman. He has served as a role model for me and many other lawyers over the years and he will surely be missed. I extend my deepest condolences to the family.

Dear Eleanor and Children:
Please accept my herartfelt sympathy on the loss of your husband and father. Ed was as genuine a professional as I have ever met. Bright, thoughtful, compassionate and sincere - he was a true public servant.
He also was an outstanding trial lawyer. Most of all he was a good family man. Thank you for sharing him with all of us. His legacy is his wonderful family and a grateful town and state.
Sincerely,
LATELLAS

I have only known Mr. Sheehy for the period of time that he worked at the Southport office of McElroy, Deutsch, Mulvaney & Carpenter where I am a legal assistant. My memory of him will always be that of a perfect gentleman with a warm, sweet smile and I know I will miss very much his genuine cheery greeting to me each day at the office. I feel very lucky to have known him and am truly sad at his sudden passing. My sincere and heartfelt condolences to his entire family.
