EDWIN JOSEPH "TED" CURRAN

1929 - 2017

CURRAN, EDWIN J. “TED” Edwin Joseph Curran, “Ted”, 87, formerly of New Haven, Connecticut, died peacefully on Sunday, January 1, 2017 at St. Raphael’s Hospital while in hospice care. He was born in New Haven in 1929, the child of the late Timothy and Anna Murphy Curran. Ted leaves his loving children, Elizabeth (Lawrence), Timothy, Brendan (Dawn) and Ann (Robert) along with twelve loving grandchildren, Nicole, Megan, Emily, Andrew, Margaret, Jonathan, Timothy, Brendan, Grace, Michael, Caitlin and Robbie, and two beautiful great-grandchildren. Ted is survived by his brother, Barry Neil (Peggy) and many adoring nieces, nephews and cousins. Ted graduated from the Hopkins School and the College of the Holy Cross. He held various executive positions at CBS, Family Health Plan of Mass. and Patients’ Choice of Syracuse, NY. Ted’s family’s formative years were spent in Scarsdale, New York, where he was involved with the Fox Meadow Elementary School Dad’s Club and Scarsdale High School’s Maroon and White Booster Club. He is fondly remembered for his rendition of “Give My Regards to Broadway” in the elementary school’s parent follies. He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and cherished his alma mater, Holy Cross, where he spent many weekends cheering on his courageous Purple Crusaders on the gridiron. Ted was fond of the sand and the waters of the Connecticut Shore, where he spent many happy summers at Hawk’s Nest Beach in Old Lyme with his loving family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, Jan 6, at 10 a.m. directly at Most Holy Trinity Church, 80 N. Colony St., Wallingford. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery in West Haven.
