Emma (Marcell) Silva, 82 of East Haven, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2023 at Apple Rehab in East Haven. She was born March 21, 1941 in New Haven to Henry and Dorothy (Rist) Marcell. Emma is survived by her two loving children: Joseph Silva (Carol) of East Haven and Joann Burke (William) of East Haven along with one grandson she adored, Nate Silva. She is also survived by her sister, Diane DeFrancesco (Gaetano) of West Haven.
Emma is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Christopher Silva (1998) and three siblings: Sebastian Marcell, Linda Mattei and Josephine Conte.
Emma was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
The Silva/Burke families would like to extend special "Thank You" to the entire staff of Apple Rehab in East Haven for their kind and compassionate care.
Family will receive friends on Friday, July 7, 2023 from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Her funeral procession will then leave the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at the Church of St. Vincent de Paul, 80 Taylor Ave., East Haven with burial to follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 6704, Hagerstown MD, 21741 in memory of Emma Silva.

Dear Emma... my deepest sympathy is being sent to you and your beautiful family. Although I spent a few occasions with you, at the casino and several dinners, you were so much fun and I always will remember you in my heart. May you rest in peace.

Aunt Emma I have the finest memories of summer weekends spent at your house, swimming in the pool, walking to the corner store to get ice cream and the amazing picnics! That was the best part of the weekend when daddy brought me to your house! May you rest in peace and now you will get to see uncle Chris again
