In New Haven November 30, 2022, Joseph V. Mauro, 74, of Bethany passed away. Beloved husband of Sharon Gorman Mauro, loving father of Joseph V. Mauro, Jr. (Erica) of Bethany, Jody Zickus (Thomas) of Seymour, Holly Badawy (Walid) of Bethany, Bridget Mauro of Seymour, and Christina Nerone (Robert) of Seymour, brother of Thomas Mauro (Rosina) of Madison, James Mauro (Karen) of Wallingford and Michael Mauro (Angel) of Bethany. Tina Mauro of Tulsa, OK. He is also survived by his 8 cherished grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He was predeceased by a brother John Mauro. Joseph was born in New Haven October 31, 1948 son of the late Thomas and Mary Ann Glynn Mauro. Joseph retired after 44 years from Local 40 as a sheet metal worker, he was known to his coworkers as 'gentleman Joe.' Joseph was a family man, loved to rebuild classic cars, and enjoyed being with friends. He always had a smile on his face. He was loyal, understanding, loving, and caring.
Calling hours are Sunday from 4 - 6 p.m. in Sisk Brothers Funeral Home, 3105 Whitney Ave. in Hamden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at Church of the Assumption, 81 Center Rd., Woodbridge. Friends are asked to go directly to church. Burial located at Carrington Cemetery on Rainbow Road, Bethany, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association (link).

Dear Sharon And Family, So sad to read of Joe´s passing. Seems like God is mostly taking the good ones. Joe was always helping people, such a nice guy. I hope you and your family find peace down the road. it is not an easy time but so many are thinking of you. God speed. Gerri Giering.
