Margaret King Obituary

Margaret "Peggy" King
May 9, 2022
Margaret "Peggy" King, a lifelong resident of Branford passed away peacefully on Monday, May 9, 2022 at her treasured Summer Island home. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald J. King. Peggy was born in New Haven March 16, 1928, daughter of the late Leo V. and Anna Kaminski Morawski. Peggy is survived by her children, Patricia A. King-Fairty (Jay) of Branford, Valerie A. King (Larry) of Canby, OR, DJ King II (Sue) of Branford and Kyle J. King (Kathleen) of Guilford; her sisters, Valerie Erickson and Anne Freund both of Branford; her brother David (Betty Lou) Morawski of Madison; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother Leo T. Morawski. Peggy was a dedicated communicant of St. John Bosco Parish and a talented member and past president of the Branford Garden Club. Her greatest joy was her growing family and she enjoyed spending time with them and her many friends at her shoreline home and in River Ranch, FL. She had a love for golf and entertaining and was an avid sports fan always found in the stands cheering for her family. Cooking and baking was Peggy's greatest passion and she was very skilled in the kitchen, her recipes loved by so many that we have even considered auctioning off her most famous recipe cards to the highest bidder. Grammy, as she was known to everyone, had a feisty spirit and humor that will be missed by all that knew her.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John Bosco Parish in St. Mary Church, 731 Main Street, Branford Saturday morning at 10:00, with burial to follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Branford. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Branford Garden Club, P. O. Box 966, Branford, CT 06405, or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, @stjude.org. For directions and online memorial see www.wsclancy.com.

We are so sorry to hear that Peggy has passed! She was a beautiful lady with yes, fiesty humor and a twinkle in her eye! Always a good friend to my Mom and so many of us at the shore, she will be remembered with love! Our condolences to you all and even though we can´t make it to the service, special thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.
