R.I.P. Michael George
.by Sarah Harrower Wierzbicki on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at 10:36pm.I went to a wake tonight... the young man, Michael George Wrigglesworth, was just 31 yrs old (my son's age) his father, Michael, was my husband’s best friend since they started kindergarten together at Pumpkin Delight grammar school in Milford, CT- some fifty years ago. As I stood in line, I passed board after board of pictures of this sweet handsome young man – a pictorial recording of his existance… it was so surreal… the last time I saw Michael George – his eyes were filled with tears as he offered comfort to me on the loss of my husband. It took an hour in line to reach the coffin – I watched his parents as they stood accepting condolences – mechanically greeting people and – introducing people and thanking them for coming- their son seemingly asleep along side them. It was agony to step forward and look at Michael George- all those many faces of Michael George that I had just passed– so full of life ... flashing before me. I hugged his parents, feeling every bit of their pain and walked through the crowded room, stopping to talk to a few friends and then leaving. As I drove home I thought about the hundreds of people that cared about this child and his family – the love in the room was almost palatable – these are good people. I pray that they find solice in knowing how much they are loved and how much their son was loved - he was so young but touched so many peoples lives. R.I.P. Michael George.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Mikes family and friends. I played hockey with Mike for years, genuine quick witted and could always make me smile. He was always ready to put his teamates first. Cant count how many times he put himself out there to protect the net or his team. Mike will be missed.

I am in complete and utter shock and sadness. Mike was hands down, the most genuine and kind-hearted man I have ever befriended. It's been well over a year since I last saw him or Kim, but they've always remained in my thoughts. My deepest sympathy goes out to his entire family. xo

Dearest Mike, time goes by so quick that you don’t realize just how much has passed until you stop, take a moment, and think about the “good old days” … After hearing the news last night that you had decided to move on, I realized that it has been close to ten years since the last time we had an in depth chat or just hung out … I wish that we hadn’t let everyday life get in our way! I have such fond memories of you (BBQs, Halloween party, you playing with my son, etc). You were always respectful, caring, and kind towards me … an absolute sweetheart … I always regarded you like a brother. I know you have found peace and you will watch over all of us.
Jay & D-Man, my thoughts and prayers are with you both. I know it feels like you have not only lost a friend … you have lost a brother! Take comfort in that Mike was loved by many during his brief time with us. He will never be far from you … always in your memories and hearts!!!
To Mike’s family, my thoughts and prayers are with you all. Alfred, Lord Tennyson said it best, “Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all”. Take solace in the love you shared … for you are all blessed to have each other. Remember the good times as you walk through this difficult time. God bless!

Mike, Denise, Crystal, all the family and Kim,
It seems like only last week we were taking "first day of school" pictures on the front stoop at Daggett Street. I remember all the parties, sleepovers, visiting back and forth that Mike, Crystal, Chris, Shannon, Robert and Cynthia did. And all of us watching them play by the hour on Daggett or in one of our yards or homes. All of you are in our hearts and prayers at this sad time. May you find strength and peace from the family and friends that are sharing their memories and their love of Mike. With love and prayers, Maureen Merlo (aka Benson)and family
