Dr. Hourihane , was one of my obstetricians, from 1977 through 1982( I had 3 children) His partner Dr ASIS, had delivered my children but Dr. H?... was also with me in the office and in the labor rooms As being of Irish heritage myself it was lovely to have a Dubliner as a physician! I will fondly remember him! Rest In Peace ...My prayers and condolences to his family.

Dr. Hourihane was filling in for Dr. Asis when I went into labor. I didn't even know him but he was wonderful. He asked us what we were going to name the baby. We told him Kaitlin for a girl. He tried to change our minds and have her name be Kiernan. He said he had a daughter named Kiernan The baby was a girl and we named her Kaitlin. But we kept that name and when our second born was a girl we named her Kiernan.
We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers and hope these stories put a smile on your face.

On Tuesday my ex-husband
died..I , know I said ex husband, but after all is said and done we were tied by much more than a piece of paper,we actually had love, mutual respect for each other ,and worked through the awful state of divorce,We we life friends that shared a big whole life together,we also shared something more important our beautiful daughter Kiernan, who loves us both ..My husband had a disease that no person should have to endure Parkinsons..He fought hard but it fought harder and won,
The one constant thing for Kieran and I was to make him know he was loved ,cared for and not alone in his battle .Kiernan managed all this while getting her masters degree earning honors,in the process ,caring for her father with a smile and determination to make him as happy in life as possible..It was not easy with Parkinsons nothing is easy ,each day something is taken away. The saving grace for both of us is knowing we were by his side until his last breath ,knowing the place he was going to be a better place out of pain and knowing his life had great meaning not only to Kiernan and I ,but to all he helped in his medical career and his life as a medical volunteer .I know that he is at peace in gods loving arms ..RIP
.

I was so sorry to read of Dr. Hourihane's passing...30 plus years ago he delivered my 2 sons and I can' forget what a kind compassionate man he was....He had a way to make you feel so comfortable while adding some humor to the mix...my story...he was leaving for vacation 1week before my due date . I was so concerned he wouldn't be around so he told me to fake my labor...he met me at the hospital and delivered my son...it was our little secret...I hope your happy memories will help you through this very difficult time.....he was a gem and is brightening n up the heavens for sure

What a wonderful, kind, caring man Dr H was and the proof is in the faces of my two sons he delivered 30 plus years ago. I adored him as a doctor. My favorite story...he was leaving on vacation and my fear was he wouldn't be around to deliver my 2nd son..he told me to fake my labor and go to the hospital....it worked......I will never forget him for that....I hope your happy memories will help you through this very difficult time...may he rest easy

Our sympathy to all the Hourihanes. We remember with such happiness all the fun as you were growing up Madelyn and Marcella with your dad, his wonderful sense of humor, his strong Faith, and his devotion to you. I still repeat the tale of the hermit crab Debby brought you Madelyn from the Cape which was returned after becoming free and climbing up dad's bedclothes. Both families laughed for days.. We will remember you all in our prayers. Love, Bob and Peggy Marlowe
