So sad to see that Nick has passed. What an incredible human beign he was. I have so many fond memories of him when I was a customer of Prime Market. So many in fact that as a story artist I recall a significant act of kindness I recieved from Nick. I actually am telling this story in Madison at the Library this evening and it is also recirded for presentation at the New haven Internationa Festival of Arts and Ideas on Decemebr 17, 2021. I believe it is alos archived in the Mercy By the Sea website. I wish I ihad thought earlier to reachout so you could hear this story. Nick was a class act!

My sincere condolences to the family. He was a wonderful man. How many times I remember, and tell the stories, of how, when exhausted after work, with two young sons in tow, I would stop at Prime Market Nick would help me. A friendly smile, an offer of a candy for my sons, and arranging for someone to carry my groceries to the car, often crossing Orange Street, while I held onto a hand of each of my sons--these are things one does not ever forget. Even though my sons are in their 30's they still remember fondly frequent childhood trips to the market. He touched many lives with his concern and kindness and will not be forgotten.
