I loss more than my best friend of 32 years, but I loss my family,a loved one , my soul. He was so loved by my family that he became family. My father trusted him and loved him as if be we're his own. My mother, well you would have thought she gave him life. There was no questions with my sibling, he was ours. His eulogies for my parents and my brother were great, full of love and laughter. I know many of you also loss your friend, an adopted family member, I am truly sorry for your loss. Know this that he is looking down on you and he is showering with his prayers and love.

As for me, our special bond will endured as it did on earth and as it will in Heaven. Love and your father's blessing upon you, as well as me.??

Just reading about Father Barry's passing, he's really going to be missed. We have fond memories of him as pastor of St. Therese in Branford. He was always very kind and attentive. Always caring. Our thoughts and prayers to the Barry family

Father Barry was very special to us and we will miss him dearly. We came to St. Therese just 2 months after Father Barry as we were new to the area. We shared numerous memories with Father Barry at the center of most - our daughter received her first holy communion, went on to become an altar server, also made her confirmation under his guidance. We enjoyed numerous events over the years from Halloween parties (where he joined in dressing as a "pirate", to children's Christmas parties & Easter egg hunts, not to mention parish picnics & any opportunity to dazzle the parish with his saxophone solo of Amazing Grace. Our thoughts & prayers go out to all whose lives were touched by Father Barry, most especially his family. May time heal your sorrow, may family & friends ease your pain & may peace replace your heartache. Our most heartfelt sympathies - Debbie, Jim & Becky Dunlop.

Father Barry was a very special priest. He had a wonderful sense of humor. He was very kind. When I attended the funeral of a very close friend, Father Barry stood beside me, and his presence gave me such comfort. I will never forget him.

The angels have carried him to heaven, and he is now at peace.

Dear Family and Friends,
I first met Rev. Barry when he walked through the doors of St. Martin de Porres Church. I had the pleasure of working for the then Rev. Peter Gerety (Archbishop) on his new committee on Human Rights. Rev. Barry and I developed a wonderful and blessed friendship. I last saw him at a wedding he performed more than 10 years ago in Branford. His love for people, and their love of him is truly a blessing and wonderful thing. He touched my life at a time of difficulty and showed me the way. My prayers are with the family and friends of this wonderful person.
May God Bless His Soul,
Sandra

I have many fond memories of Fr. Barry but the most recent and memorable is the fun and many laughs we had when practicing the musical, THE WITNESS in West Haven. Fr. Barry was behind me in rehersal and I hadn't seen him in so long...it was such a blessing...I praise God for the memories and rejoice that Fr. Barry is now where there is no more pain and no more suffering resting in peace with His precious Lord and Savior. Antoinette O.

Father Barry's visit to me in the hospital in 1983 still stands out in my memory. He told me that he speaks Protestant when the need arises and we shared a laugh about that. My sympathy to the Barry family and friends who mourn his passing. I know that his works will not be forgotten.

Fr. Barry was an influence i the lives of our family as well as many others during his period of service in New Haven at St. Martin de Porres parish. As a young child I remember him as a tall, strong--yet gentle--and capable leader in service to God, the parish and the children of St. Martin's. For many years he was the image of a parish priest. May he rest in peace.

I will always remember your dedication of a painting in honor of my Mom, at Yale. You were the calming presence in the midst of chaos...there for the patients and the staff.
Rest in peace Father Barry.
