SARGEANT, RICHARD MILTON, SR. Mr. Richard Milton Sargeant, Sr., age 81, of Prospect, was reunited in Heaven with his beloved wife, Helen (Russell) Sargeant on Sunday December 28, 2014. Richard was born on September 18, 1933 in New Haven a son to the late Charles and Mildred (Kerr) Sargeant. He was a longtime resident of Prospect and retired from the Reymond Baking Company where he worked as a delivery driver for many years. Richard was a compassionate, giving man who helped out many people throughout his life. He was a truly loving and devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather. He was a member of the Prospect Zoning Board, a member of the Prospect Pioneers, Himandhers Club, the Guys and Dolls Golf League, a Teamster and a Webelos Scout Leader. Richard was an avid golfer and bowler and also enjoyed square dancing, ballroom dancing and round dancing. Mr. Sargeant proudly served our country as a member of the United States Army. Richard is survived by four daughters: Leslie Brown and her husband Claude Mallegol of Yacolt, WA and their children Jason Cramer, Jacquelyn Brown and Jessica Mallegol, Holly Chandler of South Windsor and her children Meghann Chandler and Gage Chandler, Susan Sargeant of Milford and Helen Plante and her husband Ronald of Prospect and their children Rita and Jillian Plante; a son: Richard M. Sargeant, Jr. and his wife Sharry of Prospect and their son Connor, his brothers:Earl and Harry Sargeant. He was predeceased by the love of his life Helen (Russell) Sargeant, his son in law: Kevin Chandler, his brothers: Alton, Norman and Charles Sargeant and his sisters Eunice Nitchols and Gertrude Hurlbert. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 2, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at the Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday January 1, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
