Ruth Moon Obituary

MOON, RUTH H. Ruth H. Moon, 97, of North Branford, wife of 48 years to the late George S. Moon, died April 10, 2013 at Masonicare in Wallingford. She was born in Scranton, PA on March 1, 1916, daughter of the late Lester and Christine Bold Hine. She worked at the Seamless Rubber Company as an executive secretary until her retirement in 1975. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Branford and a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Alice Chapter #76. She is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Buffington of Clinton; a son, Walter Moon and his wife Linda of North Branford; five grandchildren, Joseph (Donna), Jeffrey (Carey) and James (Shara) Buffington, and Jennifer (Thomas) Wright and Nicole Moon; and nine great grandchildren, Monica, Joseph, Megan, Emily, Madison, Amelia, Jack, Chase and Ann Buffington. She was predeceased by two sisters, Dorothy Hilesberg and Edna Smith; and son-in-law, Allen Buffington. The family would like to thank the staff of Masonicare Health Center and Masonicare Hospice for their loving care and compassion. Her funeral will be at 10 am on Saturday at Keenan Funeral Home, 330 Notch Hill Road, (Rte. 22 So. at Rte 80.), North Branford. Burial will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park, New Haven. Family and friends are invited to call from 6-8 pm on Friday at the funeral home.
