Sean Cavanaugh Obituary

Sean P. Cavanaugh
Sean P. Cavanaugh, 55, of New Haven, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 8, 2023, at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was born in New Haven on October 5, 1967, and was the son of the late James and Barbara Barth Cavanaugh. Sean had worked in maintenance at Ace's School System for 30 years. He was a longtime member of the Umberto Club in New Haven, Knights of St. Patrick, and the Society of Santa Maria Maddalena, New Haven. Sean enjoyed fishing, trips to the cabin in Maine, watching the Red Sox, and the cooking channel. His greatest joy was spending time with his loving grandchildren whom he loved unconditionally. Sean was always up for a good time, was never shy of being the life of the party and will be missed by all who knew him. Brother of Kelly (Matthew) Powell, Colleen (Gary), Jessica, James (Kimberly), Daniel, and Christian Cavanaugh. Longtime life partner of 32 years to Julie Consiglio. Grandfather of Moises, Amayia, and Chloe. Stepfather of Britney Consiglio. Brother-in-law of Teresa and Gary Preziosi and Gina Vogel. Also survived by many nieces, nephew, two great-nephews, and countless friends.
The visiting hours will be Friday, September 15th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. Family and friends are invited to go directly to Our Lady of Gaudalupe Parish at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 397 Ferry Street, New Haven to attend a Mass of Christian burial on Saturday morning at 10:00. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. www.northhavenfuneral.com

Sean.... There can never be another you! You are "the man of the year" every year in my book! You are sadly missed and forever loved by all who knew you. May your soul rest in God's peace.... until we meet again. Watch over your family and friends and give us a sign to let us know so we can smile again....you'll be forever in our hearts. XOXO
