Sebastian S. Petruzzello
Born August 9, 1934, in Ansonia, Sebastian S. Petruzzello transitioned on August 28, 2023, very peacefully in his home surrounded by his loved ones. He recently celebrated his 89th Birthday. Sebastian, also known as “Babe,” was an extremely Proud Ret. He was the Chief Baker at the Base He was married to Barbara Jean Schuchmann Petruzzello for over 64 years. They lived in Ansonia for most of their lives and made North Haven their home for the past 5 years. Sebastian and Barbara had three children, which he was so proud of: James (Susan) deceased, John (Heidi) and his devoted daughter Cynthia. He leaves behind his three beloved grandchildren, Stephanie (Thomas) Finnucan, Kyle Petruzzello (Kristin) and Ashley (Bryan) Townsend. In addition, he leaves behind his most valuable assets being his three great-grandchildren who meant the absolute world to him and beyond: Harper Finnucan , Mac Arthur Townsend, and Brynn Finnucan. He also leaves behind two brothers, Sal, and Santo Jr., as well as his dedicated friends Bill Bowers and Larry Bedard. Sebastian managed & operated Sound View Dairy in Ansonia. Always working long hours but finding time for his family. For the ladder part of his career, he worked in Transportation Logistics retiring from the USPS. In his younger years, he also proudly served in the Auxiliary State Police at the Bethany Barracks. He leaves behind many extended family members and a special niece, Sandy Hubbell, who helped immensely in his final days. Sebastian loved anything to do with his family and especially with his grandchildren and his newly minted great-grandchildren. He loved good food, watching Westerns and sports! And boy would Sebastian drive anywhere. He loved every minute of it! Took many trips with his family throughout the years and then with his “Barb.” He loved driving along the shoreline and especially to Cape Cod and Newport, always stopping to grab some seafood. He was also the Sargeant at Arms at the Ansonia Rod & Gun Club for many years. He loved playing cards and will be in Heaven having the ultimate card game and reuniting with his son. Poppy (Dad P) I will miss your very funny but true stories. You were a wonderful Poppy to our children and #1 fan of their sporting events (never missed a baseball game or gymnastics meet). I loved that you truly enjoyed my cooking ,
"Out of sight" you would exclaim. But mostly love that you raised the kindest son (my John). Until we meet again
