Teodor Czabala, 92, fell asleep in the Lord on Saturday, March 9, 2024. Teodor is predeceased by his sisters and their husbands: Marta (John) Kootz and Anna (Anton) Krawec and his brother Ivan (Anna) Puschak in the US, siblings in Poland, and son-in-law, Dario Aponte. Teodor is survived by his wife of 57 years, Maria; their children -- Very Rev. Archpriest Teodor B., Jr (Natalia) and children Olena and Sophia; and Donna Czabala-Aponte and children, Brandon and Andrue; and many nieces and nephews. Teodor was active in his parish, St. Michael Ukrainian Catholic Church in New Haven, CT, the church he helped build, making pyrohy for many years. He was also an active member of the Ukrainian American Youth Association (CYM). Visitation will be held at Celentano Funeral Home, 424 Elm St., New Haven CT from 5-6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13 with a Parastas service to be celebrated at 6 p.m. The funeral will be Thursday, March 14 at 9 a.m. in St. Michael Ukrainian Catholic Church, 569 George St., New Haven, CT celebrated by Most Reverend Paul Chomnycky, bishop of NY & NE for the Ukrainian Catholics. Burial to follow at Holy Spirit Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, 141 Sarah Wells Trail, Campbell Hall, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Michael Ukrainian Catholic Church. May his memory be eternal! Vichna yomu Pamyat!
