Thaddeus J. "Ted" Gensicki
Thaddeus "Ted" Gensicki, 92, of Waterbury, formerly of East Haven, died December 29, 2024, with his family by his side. He is the husband of the late Mary Ann Kuczenski Gensicki. Ted was born in New Haven on December 21, 1932, a son of the late Stanley and Helen Krzeszewski Gensicki. A 1950 graduate of Hillhouse High School, he served his country proudly in the United States Navy during the Korean War. A proud 1959 graduate of Quinnipiac University, Ted pursued a successful career as an accountant with the Department of Defense, serving his country again with integrity and professionalism. In addition, Ted continued his service in the United States Naval Reserves as a medic for 30 years. Connected to his Polish roots, he was a past-president of the Tadeusz Kosciuszko Society of New Haven and a former member of the Polish Businessman's Association of New Haven. He was a lifelong parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church. For many years Ted served as both treasurer and a bartender at the Polish American Club in West Haven, sharing his time with friends and family. He enjoyed traveling to Canada, upstate New York and Newport, exploring new places and revisiting favorite places. His greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren, taking them out to eat, attending their activities and watching milestones. He is the father of Leslie Anne Milia and her husband Michael and the late Lawrence A. Gensicki. Grandfather of Noelle Milia and Drew Gensicki. Brother-in-law of Joseph (Joyce) Kuczenski and Linda Brzozowski. Uncle of Sally Monahan, Catherine Gensicki, Barbara (Gary) Sara, Dr. Edward (Kim) Gensicki, Elaine Myers, Diane (Paul) Wishnafski, Patricia Lynn Teague, Joseph and Michael Kuczenski and the late Sharon Fischer. Brother of the late Helen Pietrowski, Lillian Kudej, Claire, Henry, Edward and Roman "Jake" Gensicki. Ted's family would like to thank the staff at The Village at East Farms for their compassionate care.
Relatives and friends may visit Ted's family on Friday, January 3rd from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. in the Lupinski Funeral Home, Inc., 821 State Street, New Haven. A Catholic service will be held in the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Interment with Military Honors will follow at All Saints Cemetery in North Haven.
