THOMAS BENNETT Obituary

Thomas H. Bennett, 81, formerly of Nichols St., Seymour, now of Naugatuck, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, March 30, 2017 in the Griffin Hospital. Born in Mass. on Dec. 5, 1935, son of Dennis A. and Helen La Chance Bennett. He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy, retired from the St. of CT Dept. of Transportation after 27 years. Tom loved long rides, traveling places of his interest and nothing like a good book to read while enjoying nature. Survivors are his best friends, Terese Roberts of Naugatuck, Jerry Chopak of Beacon Falls, special niece Elizabeth Dessureau, her husband Christopher and family, Richard, Jesse and Alexis Lanci. Tom also has many cousins. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 3-4 p.m. in the Bennett Funeral Home, 91 N. Cliff St. Ansonia with a funeral service to follow. Burial will be in St. Augustine Cemetery in the future.

All of our family will miss Tom. He has been a loyal guest at our family get-togethers for the last 40-50 years. He was always an interesting and fun guest. We thought of him as a member of our family. A wonderful friend to our sister, Therese.
