William Coughlin Obituary
William T. Coughlin, Jr. of Branford passed away peacefully on May 8, 2024 in Connecticut Hospice. He is the beloved husband of Noreen Sibby Coughlin. Born in New Haven on January 11, 1945, son of the late William T. and Teresa Lane Coughlin, Sr., Bill was a proud US Army veteran serving during the Vietnam era. Following his honorable discharge, Bill was appointed to the New Haven Fire Department, retiring after 28 ½ years of dedicated service. He was the recipient of numerous unit citations. Bill was also a driver for Seaboard Oil for 18 years. He is the proud father of William J. (Laurie) Coughlin, Nancy (Marc) Fongemie, Daniel Coughlin, and Kelly Crandall. Brother of Robert (Noreen) Coughlin. Grandfather of Brittny, Shyla, William, Devlin and Jack. Great-grandfather of Robert.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday afternoon from 3:00-6:00 in the Iovanne Funeral Home, Inc., 11 Wooster Place in New Haven. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Blessed Michael McGivney Parish at St. Mary Church, 5 Hillhouse Ave. in New Haven Monday morning at 10:00. Please meet directly at Church. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405.
