William Kaplowitz Obituary

KAPLOWITZ, WILLIAM J. William J. Kaplowitz, age 93 of Boynton Beach, FL, passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at Bethesda Memorial Hospital in Boynton Beach. Mr. Kaplowitz was born in Bridgeport, the youngest son of the late Charles and Sarah (Scheinuk) Kaplowitz, and was the widower of Edith Rifkin Kaplowitz. He was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army during WW II serving in the Pacific Theater. Mr. Kaplowitz was associated with First National Stores in Bridgeport and was the owner of Bill's Quality Food Store in Milford. He retired as the hardware manager for the Stevenson Lumber Company. He is survived by his daughter Sally Abramovitz and her husband Alan of New Haven, his grandchildren, Edward Abramovitz and his wife Michelle and their newborn infant son, of Teaneck, NJ, Anna Abramovitz of New York City, and by his sister Sylvia Glaser of Shelton. He was predeceased by a brother Abraham Kaplowitz and a sister Bella Jackel. Funeral services will take place on Monday, July 16, 2012 at 11:00 AM DIRECTLY at Agudas Achim Cemetery on Reid Street in Fairfield. Period of mourning will be strictly private. The Abraham L. Green and Son Funeral Home of Fairfield is in care of the arrangements.

Sally and Family

So very sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. I remember going shopping at your dad's store. We lived on Oak Avenue. A lot of fond memories.
