Jo Ann Mac Mullan Obituary

VERNON -- Jo Ann F. Mac Mullan, 64, died Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, at Saint Clare's Hospital in Dover, following a long illness. Mrs. Mac Mullan, the daughter of the late Rocco and Frances (De Gaetano) Nappi, was born Aug. 5, 1945 in Yonkers, N.Y. She and her husband moved to Vernon in 1999 after spending almost 20 years enjoying the area as seasonal residents during the summer months.

Mrs. Mac Mullan was an office assistant with Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. in Yonkers, retiring in 1980. Never allowing her disability to alter her positive outlook on living an active life, she provided for her family as an exceptional homemaker while enjoying her passion for gardening and the local wildlife.

Married June 19, 1965 to Charles T. Mac Mullan, Mrs. Mac Mullan is also survived by her sisters and brother, Jean Campbell of Southampton, N.J., Janet Nappi of Yonkers and Robert Nappi of Aurora, Colo., and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 9:15 a.m. from Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home, 241 Route 94, to St. Francis de Sales R.C. Church, Vernon, for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Private cremation will follow. Friends may call at the funeral home today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Oley Foundation for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, 214 Hun Memorial, MC-28, Albany Medical Center, Albany, NY 12208 (www.oley.org).
